When Hyundai launched the Venue in the Indian market, it was able to take the pole position from the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza for some time. Venue has always been in the top three best selling compact SUVs. Hyundai was able to gather 50,000 sales in the first six months itself. It took 31 months for Hyundai to sell 2.5 lakh units of Venue but it is important to note that the competition increased during that time. Today, we list down a few reasons why Venue is selling in good numbers in our market.

Quite affordable and plenty of variants to choose from

Hyundai Venue is one of the affordable compact SUVs in the Indian market. It starts at Rs. 6.99 lakhs ex-showroom and the top-end variant costs Rs. 11.85 lakhs ex-showroom. Hyundai offers the Venue in eight trims. There is E, S, S+, S(O), SX, SX(O) Executive, SX+, and SX(O). So, anyone can find a variant that is best suited for them.

Just like any other Hyundai vehicle, the Venue also comes loaded with features and equipment. It gets features like a BlueLink connected car technology, electric sunroof, wireless mobile charger, push button to start/stop, cruise control, rear AC vents, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel and much more.

You also get LED Daytime Running Lamps, projector headlamps, LED tail lamps with crystal effect, multi-information display, rear parking camera, cornering lamps, hill start assist, leather upholstery, air purifier, Driver rear view monitor, Arkamys speakers etc.

After maruti Suzuki, Hyundai service network is the largest. This is a thing that an Indian customer considers while buying a new vehicle. The service costs is also quite affordable than some other automobile manufacturers. Moreover, most of the spare parts are also readily available.

Plenty of engine options to choose from

Hyundai offers three engines with the Venue. There is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that also comes with direct-injection. The naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 83 PS of max power and 113 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to only a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine is for the people who will be mostly using the car for daily commutes and city duties.

Then there is the diesel engine that produces 100 PS of max power and 240 Nm of peak torque. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine is best suited for people who will be using their vehicles on highways a lot because the diesel engine is more frugal than petrol engines.

Finally, there is the turbocharged petrol engine that produces 120 PS of max power and 172 Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, 6-speed iMT gearbox or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.  If you want an automatic gearbox with the Venue then you would have to opt for this engine. Moreover, this engine is aimed towards people who want that extra punch from their car. Because of this the DCT variants also come with paddle shifters mounted behind the steering wheel.
