Kia has been doing very well in the Indian market. They achieved profitability in just two years. Kia is now preparing to launch their new car in the Indian market. It will be called Carens and will be unveiled on December 16. The new MPV has been discovered many times. Here, we have multiple color renderings based on spy photos.

Carens will add a lot of SUV elements to make it look like an MPV. Therefore, there will be a flat engine cover, a thick plastic coating for the entire length of the car, and a tall posture. From the spy photos and renderings, we know that there will be a split headlight setup.

The LED daytime running lights are at the top and the main headlights are at the bottom. The headlamp unit will have a halogen lamp setting, while high-end models may be equipped with an LED lamp setting.

The daytime running lights will be connected via piano black bars. The rendered bumper looks beautiful and distinctive. There are also fog lights. It will be equipped with the 5-spoke alloy wheels that we have seen on the test mule.

The LED turn indicators are installed on the exterior mirrors of the same color as the body. There is a chrome-plated window waistline, and the chrome also extends to the D-pillar. There are roof rails and chrome door handles. The rear and interior have not yet been rendered by the artist. But we do know that there will be LED taillights, and the interior has been discovered in spy photos.

Carens will be equipped with digital dashboard, cruise control, multi-function steering wheel, touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, UVO connected car technology, wireless charger, automatic climate control, air purifier and more.

Kia will provide Carens with gasoline and diesel engines. The diesel engine will be a 1.5-liter diesel engine that can produce a maximum power of 115 PS and a peak torque of 250 Nm. We have also seen this engine on other Kia and Hyundai models. It will be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

As of now, we don't know which gasoline engine Kia will use. This is because there are three gasoline engines in their product portfolio. They have a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine for Alcazar and Elantra, and then a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine from Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. There is also a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with direct injection. It is the most powerful and is available on Creta and Selfos, while the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine is the least powerful.

All gasoline engines are equipped with some kind of automatic transmission. The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine is paired with a CVT, the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine is paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, and the turbo gasoline is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
